1. What is the Metrodispenser?

It is a patented drinks serving device which allows parties to fill their own glasses at their table or at the bar. In the shape of a vertical transparent tube with a tap it attracts attention, is portable, allows self-service and is fun to use. In business terms it increases drinks turnover and reduces staff requirements in any venue where draught drink is served.

2. Does it go on the table?

Usually, yes. Or you can put the Metrodispenser on a shelf or bar surface. Anywhere, in fact, where drinkers can congregate, either standing or sitting down.

3. How is it used in a bar?

The Metrodispenser comes in two parts that fit together: A tube with an attached tap and a portable base. The bartender fills the tube from a dispenser or from bottles. The tube full of drink and the base are then taken to the drinking location (bar, table, shelf) where a group of drinkers can fill their own glasses. The tap swivels horizontally at the touch of a finger for round-the-table serving. All the bar staff has to do afterwards is retrieve the empty Metrodispenser for washing and re-use.

4. What's the advantage over a jug or a pitcher?

First, it looks a lot more impressive and attracts a lot of attention. Second, it empties faster: Everyone wants to have a go at pulling the tap and watching that level go down!

5. What drinks can I put in the Metrodispenser?

Beer, wine, sodas, shots, spirits, mixers, juices, soft drinks, cider, cocktails... the list is endless.

6. I've seen other versions, why should I buy yours?

We are a one-product company devoted to refining our invention. We've come a long way since we first introduced the "drink tube" concept to the world in 1995. Now, with customers in over 70 countries we continue to lead the way, specially in corporate brewery and liquor markets where durability, hygiene and branding potential are prime considerations.

7. What's special about the Metrodispenser range?

The current range includes three sizes (M, L and XL), accessories for cooling, cleaning and carrying and also a complete spares programme. The base is specially designed to carry a logo or brand. The fingertip swivel action allows self-service round a table. We manufacture in high quality durable materials (the tubes and taps are made out of FDA polycarbonate, practically unbreakable) and we can produce the product in your own exact brand colour. Metrodispensers and their accessories are fully compliant with EU and FDA food-safety legislation.

8. Won't it tip over?

No. Our specially weighted base gives total stability and avoids accidental spills due to rocking. We suggest caution with cheap versions with hollow bases

9. How many models are there?

Three sizes of Metrodispensers (M, L and XL) with different capacities, and several accessories for cooling, cleaning and carrying.

10. Does the drink remain cold?

The polycarbonate tube is a good thermal insulator but if ambient temperature is high or if you wish to keep the drink cold for a long period we recommend our tried and tested cooling accessories.

11. Don't fizzy drinks loose their gas?

Not noticeably if the drink is kept cold.

12. You offer two cooling systems, which is best?

The internal Ice Tube looks great and if used properly (with ice and water) it will keep the drink cold for over an hour. If capacity is a concern the external Ice Sleeves are also a good solution.

13. Doesn't melting ice dilute the drink?

If you use the sealed Ice Tube you benefit from the unique cooling and visual properties of melting ice without any contact between the water and the drink.

14. Won't it foam if I fill it with beer?

Not if you follow these simple instructions:
(1) Give the tube a quick rinse with cold water.

(2) Fill at the beer tap whilst holding the tube at an angle, like you would a long glass. Allow the nozzle of the beer tap to
gently come into contact with the inside of the tube. The beer will slide down the inner surface without breaking into foam.

(3) Add an optional head of foam for effect.

15. Isn't the tube tricky to carry when full?

No. Carry the tube at an angle by placing one hand beneath the tap and the other around the top of the tube. Like that you will be able to carry even the largest Metrodispenser with ease and safety.

16. How do you clean the Metrodispenser?

After use, rinse well and make water flow through the tap. Then wash the inside of the tube with warm water and mild washing-up liquid. We offer two accessories, a cleaning brush and an Easywash Hose to make the job even simpler. If necessary the Metrodispenser can be dismantled for thorough washing.

Metrodispensers are dishwasher safe up to 60 ºC / 140 ºF. Do not use cleaning products which contain amines, ammonia, solvents or high gloss drying agents.

17. Is it hygienic?

Yes, very. No part is ever in contact with the user's mouth. All components are easy to clean or rinse through. All materials comply with international food-safety regulations.

18. What do I do if a component breaks?

The Metrodispenser is designed for prolonged use in busy bars and is made out of durable components, including impact-resistant polycarbonate tubes. However, if any component accidentally breaks or fails due to wear, it can be purchased as a spare.

19. Can you customise my Metrodispensers?

Sure. We can print your logo on the specially designed base for round-the-bar visibility and even produce the whole product in your exact brand colour.

20. What is the Metrodispenser made out of?

Mainly impact-resistant injection and extrusion plastics which are fully compliant with both American FDA and European Union food-safety regulations.

21. Do you produce a wooden base?

Wood and water (common in any bar) are a bad mix! Our early models had wooden bases but these were discontinued years ago in favour of the present design which is hygienic and easy to brand.

22. Who invented this product?

The Metrodispenser was invented, designed, developed, manufactured and patented as a world novelty by the two founding members and proprietors of the company Iniciativas y Proyectos Hosteleros S.L. Since March 1995 (when the patent was presented) this company has devoted itself exclusively to the manufacture of the Metrodispenser and it's accessories. You are therefore assured that the Metrodispenser is the original portable self-dispense drink tower.
